** November Meeting Minutes Published

** Mail Theft in Westbury
We have knowledge of three separate recent incidents of mail theft in Westbury. Two incidents occurred last week on Sheringham Lane and one last week on Hendron Place where someone removed outgoing mail from mailboxes and stole checks. Please check with your accounts to make sure mailed checks were received. If checks were not received, your mail may have also been stolen. If you have a verified case of missing checks or stolen mail, immediately contact the City of Johns Creek Police at 678-474-1600 and file a report. You should also file a report with the post office. Please also report any incidents to Westbury’s Board via board@westburyhoa.org so we can also be aware of any ongoing activity.

Everyone (including teenage children) should be reminded that mail theft is a FEDERAL OFFENSE and is very serious crime. Please educate your children accordingly.

It is strongly recommended that outgoing mail NOT be placed in your mailbox at night. If possible send outgoing mail out from another location during the day or put it out in your mailbox just prior to when our mail service comes through in the afternoon.


** Reminder – Please Keep Streets Safe
Please keep in mind that with streets getting darker at 5:30, visibility is limited. Remind your children to NOT play in the streets and be listening for cars. The posted speed limit in Westbury is 25 MPH. There is no reason for anyone to be travelling faster than 25 MPH in the subdivision. Please slow down to insure no one gets hurt.

If you have children under the age of 6, they should not be playing in the streets without parent supervision. If you are aware of very young children playing in the street, it is suggested that you contact the parent(s) directly so they are aware of your concern for safety.


** Directory Audit in Progress
Gene Kim and Vicky Carroll have graciously volunteered to help us audit the Westbury directory. The audit helps us insure accurate information in the directory. If they call you or knock on your door please be advised they are your neighbors and authorized to contact you on behalf of Westbury Community Association. Thank you for your help and giving them every courtesy as we work to make sure next year’s directory is as accurate as possible.


** Social Committee Chair Open
Big thanks go out to Tammy Adler who has headed up Westbury’s Social Committee for the past 9 years. Thank you for everything you have done Tammy! Tammy has stepped down from this role so we are looking for a new Social Committee Chair. We budget a specific amount of funds every year for social activities so if you are interested in helping us plan social activities in 2010 please contact us via board@westburyhoa.org. There is no specific time committment required and we would be open to multiple people co chairing this committee.


** Contact the ARC if Replacing Roof

** Association Waste Containers
The three waste containers in the pool parking lot are for the sole use of Westbury Community Association. They are not for individual homeowner’s use. Any homeowner caught stuffing them full of bags of leaves is subject to a $100 fine. Thank you for your understanding.


** Check out WestburyLife.net
A number of Westbury children have created http://WestburyLife.net. Their goal is to provide a platform for all Westbury community kids to show their talent and have fun at the same time.

** 2010 Invoices
Will be mailed in late November. 2010 annual fee is due by January 1 but there is a grace period through January 31. Thank you for remitting your annual fee on time.
